January Furniture Show 2026:
What’s new and setting the tone for furniture this season.
At the Furniture Show Birmingham this January, one thing was clear: interiors are prioritising quality over quick trends. The 2026 collections favoured thoughtful design, natural materials and furniture with emotional presence.
Rather than filling space, pieces were shaping it. Texture, form and colour worked together to create interiors that feel grounded and enduring. These were the key themes emerging from the show:
• Furniture = sculpture

Pieces felt more like art than utility. Bold, sculptural forms designed to stand alone and create striking visual statements within a space.
• Curves everywhere

Hard edges are taking a back seat. Rounded silhouettes, soft corners and flowing lines dominated the show, creating interiors that feel inviting, organic and effortless.
• Nature-inspired colour palettes

Mossy greens, clay, sand and other deep, warm hues set the tone. Calming, grounding colours that bring the outdoors in and work beautifully with natural materials.
• Texture as a design feature

Design wasn’t just visual, it was tactile. Ribbed and carved wood, velvet, bouclé, woven textures such as rattan added depth and a sense of quiet luxury.
• Velvet takes the lead

A noticeable shift from bouclé to velvet and woven upholstery. Rich, soft finishes brought warmth and a more refined, timeless feel. An interesting shift this year.
• Natural stone moments

From real stone to beautifully executed stone-effect materials. Used across dining tables, coffee tables and side tables to add weight, texture and statement.

Interiors for 2026 feel organic, calm and considered. Less about fast trends, more about longevity, tactility and how a space makes you feel.
